MP Mobile Manipulator MK2

As it stands today, access to human-sized mobile manipulator robots is mostly limited to well-funded technical research institutions, often manned exclusively by a handful of engineers and scientists who find it difficult to imagine their robots being used outside of their labs in the name of art. We aim to change that. The objective of this project is to build a series of research-grade mobile manipulator platforms that anyone in the CMU community can use and work with, regardless of major or experience. By significantly lowering the barrier to entry in both cost and difficulty for performing human-size mobile manipulation research, we believe a lot more people, and a lot more different kinds of people, can undertake the task of exploring what human-size robots can do for the human race.
